Iftar Catering,
Timed to Maghrib
A 100% halal kitchen that understands Ramadan logistics: orders scheduled to land at sunset, quantities planned for hungry guests, and late hours that cover suhoor runs and post-tarawih gatherings.
The Oven
800 degrees changes everything.
A regular oven tops out around 500. Ours hits 800. At that temperature, the crust blisters in minutes — leopard-spotted char on the outside, soft and airy inside. The cheese bubbles and caramelizes. The toppings roast instead of steam.
Each pizza goes into the stone oven by hand, gets rotated by hand, and comes out when it's right. That's what wood-fired means.
The Dough
48 hours of slow fermentation
Our dough ferments for two full days before it touches the oven. The long, cold rise develops a complex, slightly tangy flavor with an open crumb structure you can't get from a shortcut. Hand-stretched to order — never rolled, never frozen.
Fired at 800 degrees
Intense heat blisters the crust in minutes. Leopard-spotted char outside, soft and airy inside. No conveyor belt — each pie is rotated by hand.

Ramadan at Forni
We Plan Around
the Adhan
Anyone who has hosted an iftar knows the hard part is not the food — it is the timing. Thirty guests arrive fasting, maghrib lands at an exact minute, and everything must be hot at once. A kitchen that treats your order like a regular Tuesday delivery will miss that window.
Forni schedules iftar orders backward from sunset: we stagger the bakes so pizzas come out of the 800-degree oven in the final minutes, box them for heat retention, and have them at your door or ready for pickup before the adhan. Because the entire kitchen is halal, every dish on the table is safe for every guest — no separate trays, no questions.
Our Story
Frequently Asked
Yes — iftar catering is one of our busiest programs. We serve family iftars, office iftars, and masjid community iftars from 10 to 500+ guests across Falls Church, Arlington, Annandale, Alexandria, and the wider NoVA area. Everything is 100% halal.
That is the point of our Ramadan scheduling: tell us your sunset time and guest count, and we plan the bake schedule backward so food arrives hot in the final minutes before iftar. Pickup orders are timed the same way.
Most hosts build around wood-fired pizzas (one large per 2-3 adults), panini platters cut for sharing, Caesar and Caprese salads, garlic bread, and fresh juice pitchers — dates and water covered on your side, everything else on ours.
For weekend iftars and community events, book at least 3-5 days ahead — Ramadan weekends fill quickly. Call (703) 485-8313 or order online; large events are confirmed by phone so we can plan quantities together.
We are open until midnight Sunday-Thursday and 1 AM Friday-Saturday, which covers post-tarawih meals. For suhoor, late-night pickup works on weekend nights; during Ramadan we recommend calling ahead for exact timing.
Iftar Catering in Falls Church: How Forni Handles Ramadan
Falls Church sits at the center of one of America's largest Muslim communities, and Ramadan reshapes the neighborhood's rhythm for a month — including ours. Forni runs a dedicated iftar workflow each Ramadan because a fasting table deserves better than food that arrived lukewarm at 5 PM.
The Sunset Schedule
Each order is keyed to that evening's maghrib time. We confirm your address or pickup slot, count backward through bake and travel time, and fire the oven accordingly. Wood-fired pizza has an advantage here: a 90-second bake means the last pizza in your order is often out of the oven less than half an hour before you eat it.
Quantities for Fasting Guests
Iftar appetites run larger than standard party math. Our rule of thumb: one large pizza per 2-3 adults (not 3-4), plus a panini platter per 8-10 guests and a salad per 6. We will do this arithmetic with you on the phone — overshooting slightly beats a bare table at the Sunnah moment.
Fully Halal, By Design
Every meat is certified, every cheese microbial-rennet, no alcohol on premises, no non-halal ingredients in the building. For community iftars where guests span every level of observance, Forni's kitchen removes the sourcing question entirely.
Masjid and Community Events
We regularly serve larger community iftars in the corridor around Seminary Road and Leesburg Pike — including for congregations near Dar Al-Hijrah. For events above 100 guests, call (703) 485-8313 at least a week ahead and we will build a delivery and reheating plan with your volunteers.
